It is our privilege to pray for our fellow brothers and sisters who are currently being persecuted because of their faith. Once a month, we highlight a region of the world and pray for specific families, situations, and governments. “Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 5:10

Mitch Foren

Mitch is involved with Youth With A Mission in Mazatlan, Mexico. YWAM’s focus is to train and disciple young Christians from all over the world to become young missionaries. Mitch is involved at the school with translation, meeting the needs of the teachers while they are there teaching and most importantly ministering to and being there for the students as they go through the intense discipleship process. He also helps plan the outreach for the students and goes with the young people as they minister in countries around the world. Mitch started a soccer ministry for boys aged 7-15 in a ghetto of the city. Every Thursday he goes to the local field and plays soccer for about an hour with the city kids followed by a time of bible teaching. Mitch has seen these rough crude boys change their behavior as they develop into young godly men. Keep Mitch in your prayers, he is one of Seaside’s young men who has answered God’s call to serve Him full time on the front lines and equip others to do the same.

Ratanak International

Ratanak International is involved in life transforming work in Cambodia. There is not sufficient space to inform you on all the crucial ways they are impacting the lives of those in Cambodia. 1) Anti-Exploitation Programs - Ratanak confronts sexual exploitation through a prevention program that educates communities about the perils of human trafficking. They also run a reintegration program and provide alternate employment opportunities dedicated to empowering former victims. 2) Services for Vulnerable Communities - Ratanak is passionate about helping Cambodians where there is a lack of social structures to support their needs. They partner with a shelter and care program for elderly women, a prison outreach program, and also provide emergency aid for communities in crisis. 3) Medical & Education Programs - Ratanak partners with a medical care program to mobilize Cambodian doctors and volunteers, who support those with AIDS and other serious illnesses. They also continue to engage in opportunities to bless education programs in rural communities. www.ratanak.org
