What you should know

God is
high and holy
creator of the universe
perfect and true
righteous and just
loving and gracious

Jesus is
without sin
God in human form
the Redeemer, the Saviour
the One who took my condemnation
the One who died and came to life again

I am
small and insignificant
precious to God
full of wrongness
away from God
unable to come close

The Spirit is
the One who convicts me of sin
the One who convinces me of the truth
the One who leads me to repent
and to Jesus Christ the Saviour
the One who lives in my being now

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

The wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

But God demonstrates His love for us in this – while we were still sinners Christ died for us.

There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.

I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.

Personal spiritual life

In this new relationship with God through the Lord Jesus, a baby Christian needs to be taught how to pray and read God’s Word in order to grow close to Him.

Find it hard to get started? Try using these “acts” of prayer:

Adoration: tell God you love Him.
Confession: tell God you are sorry for wrong things.
Thanksgiving: be thankful for answered prayers, all things.
Supplication: ask for yourself and others.

I will

pray everyday at

read a Bible passage every day.

use the suggested questions to start my thinking (see Bible Study Practice).

use small cards to memorize Bible verses.

keep a journal of Bible reading and prayer topics.
